July 20, 2012 Wow, what a difference a year makes! When we first introduced Ultimate Foods Drink Mix™ last year, I really just didn’t like the taste of the product. I have never tried green drinks before and I had no idea what I was getting into. But, over the past few months, my 18 year old son, Tyler, has gotten into health and nutrition. He’s working out every day and is really interested in providing his body with good nutrition. This is the kid who used to eat Cocoa Puffs for breakfast and it drove my husband nuts. So about a month ago, he found the Ultimate Foods in our cabinet, added it to some juice and downed it. He’s been hooked ever since. [What has it done for him?] He said he just feels better when he has his Ultimate Foods each day. Sometimes he’s a real man and puts the scoop of Ultimate Foods into his mouth and washes it down with juice (not recommended ).
Now that it’s summer, we have been adding Ultimate Foods Drink Mix™ to our morning smoothies (he usually has a second after dinner, too). Here is our recipe:
Ultimate Foods Smoothie Recipe:
1 Scoop Ultimate Foods Drink Mix™
1 Scoop Nutrim®
1 Scoop Strawberry Soy Protein Powder
1 1/2 cups of Frozen Dole Fruit-Mango, Peaches, Strawberries
Handful of Frozen Blueberries
1 cup Pomegranate Blueberry Juice
Blend all ingredients in a blender. Enjoy a healthy way to start your day! Makes one large smoothie for one person or two regular sized smoothies to share.
I don’t know if it was Tyler’s enthusiasm for Ultimate Foods™ that got me hooked, or, just the way that it gave me energy for some long bike rides (we are training for a 100 mile ride in Holland, MI this summer) but all I know is that compared to a year ago, I feel very differently about this great product and just plain feel great.
With Tyler going off to college in the Fall, we will be sending Ultimate Foods Drink Mix with him to take everyday. It’s a given that college kids’ immune system wears down from the late nights and not eating the best in the dining halls. Based on his enthusiasm, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a spike in orders coming from West Lafayette, IN.
